Home Kicking it NBA Style

Kicking it NBA Style. Wine X goes Extra at The Mavericks Gala.

Extra

Yeah. and Extra Cool.

That’s the reason why the NBA is a cool group to hang with.  Go behind the scenes or off the court with most NBA teams and what you’ll find is a meticulous customer experience, sophistication without pretentiousness, approachability, and high energy friendliness.   Not a new thing, the league figured out a long time ago that reaching  & connecting with everyone wasn’t impossible, it just took a  “want to” attitude.     And the snarkiest of sharks, Mark Cuban and his Mavericks organization does it like no other.

And so Wine X  Magazine decided to do it with them  last night at the Dallas Mavericks Foundation Gala.

Getting in through the front door isn’t as hard as you might think.

Yes, courtside seats next to Jack isn’t really realistic but throwing down a few hundred bucks for a seat at a club’s special events costs less than a half decent stub hub ticket to Bruno Mars (we like Bruno by the way).  There’s a handful of outreach and fundraising events each year: golf days, fundraisers, post season awards, and foundation events are all pretty common.  What’s you’ll find is more than you expect. A cool time just as advertised, the swaggiest of swag, a lot of the who’s who, and players, coaches and team leaders who are all so approachable, you’ll forget who they really are.

.

And a lot of cool brands jump in and enhance the experience.  Jackson Family Wines joined in the fun providing the wine for the pre-party, the dinner and a $20/pop wine pull that didn’t disappoint.

And Mark? What’s he like?  Cool. man…. just cool.  He hung out talking to anyone who approached him.  He stood near the door that led from the pre-party to the dinner, graciously introducing himself, thanking everyone for coming and taking a selfie or two if it someone asked.  Tip of the cap Mark.   Bravo.

The wine….  don’t forget the wine. both from the Jackson Family portfolio.

2016 Siduri  Pinot Noir Willamette Valley:     Youthful red and blue fruit and a nice medium weight, with a nice balance of acidity.  Like a first round lottery pick, there’s a lot of upside in this bottle.  Wine X Rating XX

2014 Cenyth Red Wine (Bordeaux style meritage)  Sonoma:      Old world and complex.  Lots of layers with each sip. Tall and strong.     Dirk if he was a wine.  Big, bold, confident and gentlemanly  Wine X Rating XXX
