Just getting into wine & loving it so far? Lets talk about a few things you’ll want to at least consider. So here’s a start:
A good wine opener– Duh. But everyone is different and prefers their own kind of opener. Whether it be a simple wine key or a fancy Rabbit; invest in a nice wine opener that is good quality and works for your needs, whether you are opening many bottles or need a low-effort opener that is easy on arthritic hands.
Wine stoppers– Every wine lover ends up with half full bottles at some point. Investing in a wine stopper, pump and argon gas can help your wine last longer.
Reusable 6-pack– While I like to think I am just being economical filling up a 6-pack of wine at the store (most places give you discounts purchasing 6 or more bottles!), it is quite handy to have your own quality bag to bring with you.
Basic Wine rack– Many of us find it hard to sit on a bottle and let it age. Getting a nice wine rack (doesn’t have to be big) will encourage you to age a couple of nice bottles and always looks great in a kitchen.
Stainless steel wine glasses- I’m sure you’re saying “Whaaaaat?” But look, for anyone who is prone to breaking glasses or just wants a durable glass for sipping wine on the porch or camping, stainless steel wine glasses are a lifesaver. They keep white wines cool (like really cool), they are affordable, and indestructible. And shockingly, you dont get a metal taste even with high acidity wines! Then again, we gulp & we dont siiiiiip.
Carafe– Every wine lover needs a nice carafe to air out their wines at the dinner table before drinking. If you don’t do this already, try it out. It can make a world of difference with the taste of your wine.
Bonus: Not at all necessary but very cool- Wine infused candles! Yes, they make those now. Just to set the mood if ya know what I mean 🙂
